TEAMMATES!
- Ever notice how one person wins the Tour de France, but they always call it a "team sport?" The Tour consists of many 9-man teams, and each team usually has a designated leader. The "workers," or "domestiques" in French, help their leader in many ways. They can ride at the front of the big groups, sheltering their main man from the wind. They also drop back to the team cars to get food and drink for the leaders. Domestiques also stop when their leader has a crash, puncture, or other problem, and help pace them back to the front of the race. All of these things help the leaders save their energy for when it really counts!
